Rubik's Cube No Match For Florida Weather Forecaster
In the competitive world of TV news, South Florida's Lauren Olesky has an edge on the competition.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL — In the competitive world of TV news, Lauren Olesky has an edge on the competition. She may be the only on-air meteorologist who has ever solved a maddening Rubik's Cube while delivering the weather to her viewers. She pulled off the feat during Friday morning's broadcast of CBS12 News, a local CBS affiliate in South Florida.
"I'm going to try. I'm very nervous," Olesky confided, as she took the six-faced cube from her morning colleagues on the anchor desk. "My heart's like racing a little bit."
The Mississippi State grad placed her weather graphics on automatic pilot and focused on lining up the white, red, blue, orange, green and yellow sides of Ernő Rubik's mechanical puzzle.

It took less than three minutes for Olesky to solve the Rubik's Cube, but it must have seemed like an eternity on live television.
How long is that in TV weather terms?

Olesky began working on the puzzle at the start of her forecast. She held up the completed puzzle by the time she got to the end of her forecast.
As she held up the finished puzzle in triumph, Olesky appeared exhausted on camera.
"I need a pay raise," she exclaimed.
