8 Miami Beaches Cleared For Swimming

Health officials said the Miami-Dade swimming advisories were lifted following satisfactory microbial water quality results.

MIAMI, FL — The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County has lifted all eight swimming advisories that had been in effect around the Miami area. Health officials said no other Miami-Dade beaches were under swimming advisories as of late Tuesday afternoon.

With the announcement, advisories were lifted from the following beaches:

  • Golden Beach
  • Sunny Isles
  • Surfside
  • North Shore
  • 53 Street in Miami Beach
  • Haulover South
  • Crandon North
  • Crandon South

"Based on satisfactory microbial water quality test result, the Florida Department of Heallth in Miami-Dade County is lifting the swimming advisory," officials said. Previous water samples at the affected beaches did not meet the recreational water quality standard for enterococci, according to health officials.

"By state regulation, the Florida Department of Health in Miami Dade County is required to issue an advisory to inform the public in a specific area when this standard is not met," officials said.
