Train Slams Into Truck During Morning Commute

A train slammed into a truck Wednesday, causing the vehicle to leak fuel.

MIAMI, FL — A train slammed into a truck Wednesday, causing the vehicle to leak fuel. The incident happened around 8:30 a.m. at NW 31 Avenue and NW North River Drive, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

"Units arrived to find the side of the truck had been struck, hitting the hood of truck and consequently causing it to leak fuel," said a spokesperson for the agency.

No one was injured in the crash but Ladder 17 remained on the scene to contain the leak. State environmental officials were also being called to the scene.

"MDFR advises motorists to remain vigilant when approaching railroad crossings," according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. "Do not stop no less than 15 feet from a railroad crossing and proceed only when safety signals have indicated that you can do so."
