VIDEO: Hollywood 7-Eleven Clerk Fights Off Robber
A woman working at a 7-Eleven stood her ground when a robber jumped onto the counter in an attempt to grab the cash drawer. She stopped him.

HOLLYWOOD, FL — A man is on the lam after a botched robbery attempt at a Hollywood 7-Eleven in which he clumsily dove onto the counter for the cash drawer. The incident was captured on the store's surveillance camera soon before 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, and there's an award of up to $3,000 for information leading to his arrest.
The man is seen at the counter of the 7-Eleven at 1600 N. Federal Highway, wearing a multi-colored hat covering much of his face. He asked the cashier for an item behind the counter and she rung it up.
The second the cash drawer popped open, the man jumped onto the counter, landing on his stomach, struggling to get the cash drawer in his hands. The cashier, who WSVN reported did not want to be identified, didn't back down.

“I ain’t gonna lie. I was scared,” she told WSVN.
She slapped and pushed the suspect, who kept grabbing at the drawer, eventually yielding back with what appeared to be a few bills in his hand. He tried to threaten her physically again, but she stood her ground.
Seconds later, he walked to the door, turned back into the store to pick up something off the ground, and left for good.
The man is described as between 20 and 30 years old and wears his hair in long dreadlocks or braids. He was wearing a black T-shirt and khaki shorts.
There's an award of up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest of this robber. Police ask that anybody with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
