XXXTentacion Murder: Last Suspect Surrenders

The fourth and final suspect has surrendered to police in the murder of rapper XXXTentacion, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — The last suspect in the shooting death of rapper XXXTentacion has surrendered to Florida police. The artist was killed June 18 in a brazen daytime shooting in South Florida outside Riva Motorsports. Twenty-year-old Trayvon Newsome was taken into custody shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday at his lawyer's office in Fort Lauderdale, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

"Newsome has been booked into BSO’s Main Jail on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon," according to a spokesperson for BSO.

In the days following the shooting, mournful fans gathered outside Riva Motorsports to pay their respects to the slain star.

The Broward Sheriff's Office had previously arrested 22-year-old Robert Allen, 22-year-old Michael Boatwright and Dedrick Devonshay Williams of Pompano Beach. All four men were indicted by a Broward County jury on charges of first-degree murder.

The 22-year-old Williams was arrested little more than 48 hours after the slaying of the artist, whose real name was Jahseh Onfroy.

"Investigators say Boatwright and Newsome were the two armed suspects who confronted Jahseh Onfroy," according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The artist had apparently been shopping for a motorcycle at the business when he was ambushed in an apparent robbery. He was about to leave in his car when he was attacked.

Williams was arrested during a traffic stop in Pompano Beach.

XXXTentacion lived in the 6500 block of NW 62nd Terrace in nearby Parkland.

Attorney David Bogenschutz told the Associated Press that the rapper had visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash for the purchase.

Fans decorated a football field length of sidewalk with chalk art that included messages of sympathy and loss such as “Feel for you XXX” and “4evr Young.”
