3 Ladies In Tropical Shirts Sing Their Hearts Out At Chamber Luncheon
Giving testament to their message, three Riverview chamber members herald the fun you can have at a group known for taking care of business.
They're known as "The Weezettes" and they took their message to the June 25 luncheon of the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce at The Regent.
There, Leslier Forrester, Gwen Gideons and Suzy "Weezy" Wiesenhart extolled the merits of joining the wildly popular Taking Care of Business group, which has grown over the years to a 144-member body.
Billed as an atypical leads and networking group, the group's mission is to stay focus on relationships. Indeed, said long-time member Ed Booth, of Huth & Booth Photography, "we had a long waiting list of people so we allowed them all in."
With a "no referrals, no leads, no rules," directive, Booth added, the group opened its doors and the members "all started handing referrals to each other."
The group meets each Thursday morning, from 7:30 to 9, at The Alley at South Shore, at 10221 Big Bend Road in Riverview.
TCOB sponsored the June 25 luncheon, with food samplings from member restaurants.
At the luncheon, The Weezettes performed several popular songs with their own twist to the lyrics. To wit, to the tune of Disney's "Be Our Guest," The Weezettes sang:
Be our guest, be our guest,
Put that working to the test,
Bring your business cards and flyers,
And we'll provide the rest.
Speaker ju jour, we'll explore,
Thirty seconds on the floor,
Try the bagels, they're delicious,
Don't believe us, ask Chef [--icious].
Sometimes we sing, and we joke,
We are very friendly folk,Â
TCOB is never second-best.
So join us at The Alley, and don't dilly-dally,
Be our guest, be our guest, be our guest.
