APOLLO BEACH, FL -- Beginning Monday, June 17, the Florida Department of Transportation will close Big Bend Road (County Road 672) just west of Wyandotte Road in Apollo Beach.

This closure is necessary for crews to replace the existing bridge on Big Bend Road between Dickman Road and Wyandotte Road. This section of roadway is expected to be closed for approximately four months, weather permitting.

During this closure, motorists will be detoured around the work zone using U.S. 41, Apollo Beach Boulevard and Dickman Road. Access to businesses, including Big Bend Power Station, will be maintained during this closure. Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be used to assist motorists traveling through the detour route. Motorists may anticipate heavier-than-normal volumes of traffic on nearby roads during this closure.
