GiGi's Playhouse, a network of more than 38 Down syndrome achievement centers, celebrated the opening of its Tampa location in August.

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, FL -- Families connected to the Down syndrome community in Tampa Bay now have a dedicated place to celebrate their children and benefit from free programs.

GiGi’s Playhouse, a network of more than 38 Down syndrome achievement centers across the United States and Mexico, celebrated the opening of its Tampa location in August. GiGi's Playhouse Tampa serves Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties.

GiGi’s Playhouse was created to change the way Down syndrome is viewed by society by promoting acceptance and providing a lifelong commitment of support to families. Through programs and networking, parents and caregivers will make essential connections at GiGi’s Playhouse.

The educational and therapeutic programs offered are designed to maximize each participant’s potential and address the universal challenges faced by individuals with Down syndrome. In addition, the Playhouse offers foundational programs for older children and adults with Down syndrome, including career development.

While many children with Down syndrome attend area public schools and receive special instruction, not all their needs are being met.
