Lithia Springs Closed for Swimming; High Levels of Bacteria Detected
The popular Lithia swimming spot will reopen as soon as the Hillsborough County Health Department gives the OK.

Don't plan on going swimming at Lithia Springs Park on this hot Father's Day weekend.
The Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department has closed the Lithia Springs swimming area due to elevated levels of bacteria found in the waters from recent rainfall. The popular swimming spot will be closed until an acceptable water sample reading is received by the Hillsborough County Health Department.
The parks department will submit a new water sample to the health department on Monday, June 17. If no elevated levels are found, the Lithia Springs swimming area will reopen and the health advisory will be lifted.
