Physical Therapist Accused Of Sex Assault On 75-Year-Old Patient

A physical therapist is being accused of sexually assaulting a 75-year-old patient in her hospital room.

RIVERVIEW, FL — A physical therapist at St. Joseph's Hospital in Riverview is accused of sexually assaulting a patient Monday. A release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says Regginald Jackson, 30, was caught in the act.

According to the release, a nurse noticed the alarm sounding in the room of a 75-year-old female patient. She checked the live feed camera inside the room and saw Jackson putting his genitals in the patient's mouth, the release says.

Detectives who responded questioned Jackson, who refused to comment, the release says.

Jackson was arrested on a sexual battery charge and booked into Orient Road Jail.

Detectives believe there may be other patients who have been victimized. Anybody with information on similar incidents involving Jackson is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200 or Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 800-873-TIPS (8477) to report a tip anonymously.

"This is an appalling breach of trust and abuse by a person who is trained and paid to look out for the well-being of patients," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in the release.
