Public Meeting Scheduled For Realignment Of Old Big Bend Road

RIVERVIEW, FL -- Hillsborough County will host a public meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 10, to give residents information on the proposed realignment of Old Big Bend Road at Simmons Road in Riverview.

The work is designed to improve intersection safety by moving the frontage road farther from Old Big Bend Road. The project would require the use of several acres of nearby Vance Vogel Park for right of way and wetlands mitigation.

The meeting will have an open-house format where residents can review details of the road project, ask questions of staff about the realignment, and submit comments on the roadway project and the use and exchange of county property.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the East Bay High School cafeteria, 7710 Old Big Bend Road in Gibsonton.
