Skate Contests Return to Hillsborough County
Annual tournament looks to find the best shredder and showcase three skate parks.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Think your backside Ollie really shreds?
Find out if it’s the best by competing for the title of Best Shredder of Hillsborough County Skate Parks in this annual three-part skateboarding tournament.
Skateboard enthusiasts ages 8 and older can participate in the tournament’s first contest on Friday, April 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Apollo Beach Skate Park, 664 Golf and Seal Blvd. in Apollo Beach. The Sea Breeze Skate Contest features a street-style jam in four age categories, as well as prizes and free hot dogs, chips and drinks.

The Best Shredder series is a showcase for the three skate parks in Hillsborough County. The second installment will take place on International Go Skate Day, Thursday, June 21, at Northwest Skate Park in Town ’N Country. The Endless Summer Skate contest, the third installment, is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 5 at the Brandon Skate Park.
Admission is free for all contests. Helmets and notarized waivers are required. Forms are available online at HillsboroughCounty.org/BestShredder.
