Boca Raton Homeowner Discovers Gator In Pool

With much of the country caught in a deep freeze, it's a luxury to walk out the back door and jump into your very own pool — or is it?

BOCA RATON, FL — With much of the country caught in a deep freeze, it's something of a luxury to be able to walk out the back door and jump into your very own swimming pool in February. But as one Boca Raton homeowner learned this week, sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for. That is especially true when there's an uninvited alligator in your pool.

"For one city resident, their morning routine was anything but normal," said Boca Raton police on Monday. "This morning, they woke up and found an 8-foot alligator in their pool on SW 14tth."

Boca Raton police contacted the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to remove the scaly pool crasher.
