Hurricane Irma Florida: Boca Raton Residents Urged To Keep Off Roads

City Hall and all facilities, including parks, beaches and libraries remain closed indefinitely.

BOCA RATON, FL — Boca Raton officials are urging the public to stay off the roads from dusk Monday until dawn Tuesday as workers try to evaluate the state of the city's facilities and clear roads in the wake of the powerful and deadly Hurricane Irma.

Boca Raton originally instituted the citywide curfew Sunday night. City Hall and all facilities, including parks, beaches and libraries remain closed indefinitely. Florida Power & Light is trying to restore power to the region.

Sanitation workers beginning Tuesday will also resume regularly scheduled trash collection, but only for household garbage, the city said in a Facebook post. Solid Waste Authority cannot yet take debris or recyclables.
