More Phased Recreational Openings In City Of Boca Raton
The City of Boca Raton will reopen Mizner Bark Dog Park and Tim Huxhold Skate & Shuffleboard Park under specific hours and limitations.

Beginning Monday, May 18, the book drops will be open for returning library materials at both the Spanish River and the Downtown branches of the Boca Raton Public Library. Each branch will continue to be closed until plans have been finalized for further phased openings.

Overdue fees and penalties continue to be suspended until the branches are open to the public.
In the meantime, the Digital Library is available to BRPL cardholders, including expanded access to over 700,000 ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, movies, music, learning resources and more. Questions? Contact Library staff via email brpl@myboca.us.

Beginning Tuesday, May 19, the City of Boca Raton will reopen Mizner Bark Dog Park and Tim Huxhold Skate & Shuffleboard Park under the following hours and limitations. These park openings are in accordance with Palm Beach County Executive Order No. 2020-007.
- Mizner Bark Dog Park will open with normal operating hours: Sunday-Saturday from 7am-dusk, except Wednesdays will be from 12pm-dusk starting on May 27.
- The port-o-let at the dog park will remain closed.
- Tim Huxhold Skate & Shuffleboard Park will open Monday-Friday from 5pm-8pm, Saturday from 1pm-8pm, and Sunday from 1pm-6pm.
Additional updates for City of Boca Raton recreation:
- Doubles play for tennis, racquetball and pickleball are now permitted at City facilities and parks. (No spectators will be allowed at this time.)
- Basketball and volleyball have no restrictions.
- Beaches
- While County beaches open, the County-owned South Inlet Park will remain closed until the City of Boca Raton opens their beach parks. City beach parks, including parking and restrooms remain closed until further notice.
- Parties accessing the beaches shall follow CDC guidelines by limiting gatherings to no more than 10 persons and distancing themselves from other parties by 6 feet.
