2 Dead After Plane Goes Into Fort Lauderdale Building

The plane crash sparked a fire at the Fort Lauderdale building.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — A small plane crashed into a Fort Lauderdale building on Saturday, killing two people on board and sparking a fire, according to fire officials and news reports.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue officials said crews were on scene within five minutes. The crash was at 1101 NW 62nd Street, which is an occupied therapy center for children with autism, according to The Miami Herald.

Fire officials told the paper that five children and eight adults were inside the building and a teacher at the center suffered a minor injury while evacuating children.
