10K Event Added To Twilight Run
Robinson Preserve will host two races at its eighth annual 5K Twilight Run on Friday.

BRADENTON, FL – The most scenic distance race in Manatee County just got larger.
The eighth annual Robinson Preserve 5K Twilight Run, set for this Friday, March 25, features a new 10K option for this year’s race. With the 10K addition, the Twilight Run is expected to grow to 2,000 participants, making it the largest timed race in Manatee County.
The race begins at 6:30 p.m. at Robinson Preserve, 1704 99th ST. NW, Bradenton.

The chip-timed race follows a 3.1- and 6.2-mile course over shell trails and eight bridges, with scenic views of Tampa Bay and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, finishing at the restored historical Valentine House.
“It is places like this that people can get back in touch with nature,” said Charlie Hunsicker, Manatee County’s Parks and Natural Resources Director.

Along with the chip-timed events, there will also be a 1-mile pet-friendly walk and Kid’s Dashes in the following categories:
- Ages 3-4: 100 meters
- Ages 5-6: 200 meters
- Ages 7-9: 400 meters
- Ages 10-12: 800 meters
The top three children in each age category will receive crafted finisher medals and trophies.
The 5K and 10K participants will receive a dry fit training shirt with the Robinson Preserve Bald Eagle logo. Top runners in their categories will win cash awards. Runners placing in their categories will receive hand-crafted titles. All participants are invited to a post-race party with food and drinks.
Proceeds from the Robinson Preserve 5K Twilight Run benefit FELT (Feeding Empty Little Tummies), a back pack program designed to meet the needs of Manatee County’s homeless children during the weekends; and Robinson Preserve for preserve development and maintenance.
