7,650 New Vaccine Doses Delivered To Manatee County

Manatee County, which is switching to a new booking system, will administer 12,750 first doses of the coronavirus Monday through Friday.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Manatee County will receive an additional 7,650 first doses of the coronavirus vaccine from the state to distribute next week. The doses will be given at vaccine clinics at Tom Bennett Park Wednesday through Friday, according to a news release from the county.

This is in addition to 5,100 doses the county has already received and plans to distribute at clinics Monday and Tuesday.

The county will distribute 12,750 first doses of the vaccine next week. Each day, 2,550 doses will be given each day, the county said.

The county is also automating its vaccine booking system, switching to an Everbridge notification system Friday.

Vaccine recipients will be randomly selected from the county’s standby pool. Those selected will receive an automated phone call from 941-742-4300 to schedule an appointment. They will also receive a text message from 88911 and/or an email if they provided a mobile phone number or email address with their registration.

Those contacted have two hours to respond before being moved back into the standby pool, the county said.

Those who are notified for an appointment should respond quickly. Those who do not respond within two hours will be placed back in the standby pool.
