MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Amazon plans to open a more than 200,000-square-foot delivery center in southern Manatee County.

The facility at 2200 Tallevast Road in Sarasota will open later this year in time for the holiday shopping season, Owen Torres, an Amazon spokesperson, told Patch.

“We are excited to increase our investment in Manatee County with a new delivery station to provide fast and efficient delivery for customers and provide hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce,” he said. “The delivery station will power Amazon’s last-mile capabilities to enhance our customer experience in the metro area.”

The new delivery station in Manatee County will support Amazon’s growing volume of customer orders in the area, Torres said.
