Braden River Library Offers Curbside Services Only In June, July
The Braden River branch of the Manatee County Public Library System will be closed for construction June 8 through July 24.
BRADENTON, FL — The Braden River branch of the Manatee County Public Library System will offer curbside services only while it’s closed for construction June 8 through July 24.
The temporary closure is required because of expected “noise, odors and constant changes that are made to accommodate the construction” during the planned renovation and expansion of the library, which is located at 4915 53rd Ave. E. in Bradenton, Manatee Libraries said in a news release.
During this time, staff will answer phones, check out items put on hold and provide pick-up service for all library users.

Library users can reserve materials online or by calling 941-727-6079. A pick-up appointment can be scheduled once library users have been notified that their order has been placed on the hold shelf, Manatee Libraries said.
When picking up reserved materials, patrons may enter the parking lot from either 51st Street or Natalie Way. The SR70 entrance remains closed. Park under the portico by the east-facing doors and call 941-727-6079. A staff will bring materials to your vehicle.
The book drop, available 24/7, will be located near the east doors for this phase of the construction.
A Manatee Libraries’ card is needed to request and check out materials. Manatee County residents can sign up for an e-card here.
E-cards can be activated and used immediately to make holds or to download any of the library system’s digital resources, which include e-books and e-audiobooks, streaming movies and music, and learning tools.
During the branch’s closure, patrons can access the library system’s many virtual resources, including story time and videos for children’s entertainment, as well as Tutor.com and LinkedIn Learning. There are also instructional videos for adults about technology and digital skills, as well as book discussion groups, and entertainment and wellness videos on the library website, Facebook, and the YouTube page, Manatee Libraries said.
