Bradenton Man Thrown From Moped, Dies In Early-Morning Accident
The 29-year-old victim was not wearing a helmet and died a day after the accident, which involved an SUV on State Road 70, police said.
BRADENTON, FLA — A 29-year-old Bradenton man died Monday after he was thrown from his moped early morning Sunday after another vehicle hit the back of the victim’s moped, police said Tuesday.
The man, whom police did not identify, died on Monday after he was taken to Blake Medical Center following the accident on State Road 70, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The accident took place at 2:29 a.m. on Sunday and involved a sport utility vehicle, police said.
The moped was approaching the intersection of 34th Street West when his moped was struck from behind by the SUV, which was being driven by a 52-year-old Bradenton man, police said. The moped rider was thrown from his moped, which then overturned. The State Patrol said the victim was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
