Bradenton Weekend Events: 5 Events You Don’t Want To Miss

Bradenton-area events include: kids fishing tournament, youth yoga in Lakewood Ranch, Mother's Day Skate at AstroSkate.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL — Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here are five events that you don't want to miss in Manatee County.


What: Youth Yoga in the Park

When: Saturday, 10 to 11 a.m.

Where: Bob Gardner Community Park, 2710 White Eagle Blvd., Lakewood Ranch

This dynamic yoga series is designed just for kids. The workshop will include music, storytelling, arts and more.

What: 34th annual Jerry Hill Memorial Fishing Tournament

When: Saturday, 8 to 11:30 a.m.

Where: Green Bridge Fishing Pier, 820 Riverside Drive, Palmetto

This fishing event is free for all kids (who must be accompanied by an adult.) Lunch and awards will be given out after two hours of fishing. This event is sponsored by the North Manatee Kiwanis, the Bradenton Kiwanis, Crosthwaite Fishing Tournament, the city of Palmetto and the Manatee Fish & Game Association. Register here.


What: Mother’s Day Skate

When: Sunday, 1 to 9 p.m.

Where: Astro Skate Family Fun Center, 3611 3rd Street West, Bradenton

Moms and their kids skate, eat and drink for free!


What: Dean Johanesen & the 24 Hour Men performance

When: Saturday, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Cottonmouth Southern Soul Kitchen, 1114 12th Street West, Bradenton

Catch Americana singer-songwriter Dean Johanesen with his band the 24 Hour Men in Bradenton’s Village of the Arts. In addition to Johanesen on guitar and vocals, Mark Pezzo performs upright bass and Max Kelly is on percussion.


What: “I Do, I Do” performance

When: Sunday, 2 to 3:45 p.m. (Vimeo web link available Friday through Sunday.)

Where: Lake Manatee State Park, 20007 State Road 64, East Bradenton

This musical shares the story of Michael and Agnes on their wedding day. Tickets for the live performance in Stone Hall are $15 per person and $30 per car for the outdoor performance in the outdoor cinema. Stream the show at home for $15.
