Dump Truck Overturns, Spills Crushed Asphalt Across I-75: FHP
After its tire blew out, a dump truck spilled crushed asphalt on I-75 in Parrish, shutting down the left northbound lane, FHP said.
PARRISH, FL — After its tire blew out, a dump truck overturned on I-75 north near mile marker 233 in Parrish, spilling its crushed asphalt cargo on the highway Tuesday afternoon, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The truck’s driver, a 40-year-old Tampa man, lost control of the truck after the tire blew out just before 2 p.m. The force from the blowout moved the truck, which was traveling in the outside lane, across the highway’s northbound lanes, FHP said.
The northbound left lane remains closed, according to FHP’s Live Traffic Crash and Road Condition Report.
