Enjoy Holiday Revelry

The Music Program at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) has a night of holiday festivities planned for a show titled “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year” at SCF’s Neel Performing Arts Center, Thursday, Dec. 5, 7:30 p.m. The SCF Bradenton Symphony Orchestra (BSO), the SCF Choirs and the Guitar Ensemble will perform holiday hits that capture the magic of the season. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for students, faculty and staff.

In addition to classic favorites like “Sleigh Ride,” “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” “Do You Hear What I Hear” and “Winter Wonderland of Snow,” the audience will be treated to “Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas,” a combined performance of the BSO, the Concert Choir and the Chamber Choir. Each “day” of Christmas will be performed in a style from a different historical time period, featuring everything from 12th Century Gregorian chants and Baroque period style, to the style of John Philip Sousa by the final movement.
