First Bank, Community Shows "Can-Do" Spirit for Food Bank

To help alleviate hunger in the community, First Bank employees and customers participated in the Food Bank of Manatee County’s Food Bank Challenge from July through September.

First Bank’s eight Manatee County branches participated, collecting over 400 pounds non-perishable food items for the non-profit organization. All told, over 50,000 pounds of food was collected by local businesses as well as $30,000 in donations.

The Food Bank of Manatee provides nutritional assistance and caring supportive services to individuals in need throughout Manatee County by distributing food to non-profit agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, and churches.
