Florida Highway Patrol Collects Food For Families In Need

Nonperishable food donations can be dropped off at any Florida Highway Patrol office for its annual "Stuff the Charger" campaign.

SOUTHWEST FLORIDA — The Florida Highway Patrol’s Southwest Florida headquarters is hosting its annual “Stuff the Charger” campaign this holiday season. Non-perishable food donations for families in need can be dropped off at any FHP office.

Those locations in Southwest Florida include:

  • 10041 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers
  • 5023 53rd Ave. E, Bradenton
  • 4010 South Tamiami Trail, Venice

Suggested food items include canned meats, sweet potatoes, fruits and vegetables; boxed stuffing and potatoes; rice or other grains; cornbread mix; grits and oatmeal; nuts; evaporated milk; and broth.

Donations will be collected through Nov. 30. FHP will work with its community partners, including Farm Share, Feeding Florida, Manna, Harry Chapin Food Bank, Second Harvest of the Big Bend and Second Harvest Food Bank, to distribute the items to families.
