Parents in need of a little assistance in helping their kids smile brighter might want to mark their calendars for Feb. 28.
That’s the day the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, or LECOM for short, plans to host a free Give Kids a Smile event. The event includes free dental screenings courtesy of students. It takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 4800 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. in Bradenton.

Screenings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are open to kids ages 2 to 17. A parent or legal guardian must accompany the child to the screening, the Manatee County Health Department announced.
