Reports popped up all over social media Tuesday evening about funnel clouds spotted in West Bradenton.

The National Weather Service tweeted a photo of a funnel cloud at 6:38 p.m. and said that a tornado briefly touched down in Palmetto minutes earlier near 10th Street West and 28th Avenue West, damaging five mobile homes.

Patch Facebook fan Carol Raabe Stewart posted a video of one near her home, and Chris Cantwell shared a YouTube video of an "almost funnel."
