Labor Day Closures in Manatee County

Don't plan on visiting the library or bother taking out the garbage on Labor Day. City and Government offices will be closed, however parks and beaches are open and the trolley will still be in service!

All Manatee County Government and City of Bradenton offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 2 to commemorate Labor Day. 

Trash, recycling and yard waste collections for the week will be postponed one day from Tuesday through Saturday for residents in unincorporated Manatee. Residents who live within city limits shouldn't expect garbage collection on Labor Day, but household trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday, Aug. 31 and yard waste will be collected on Thursday, Sept. 5.

The Anna Maria Island Trolley will operate normal daily routes and the Manatee Avenue Beach Express will operate on holiday schedule. Manatee County Area Transit operations will be suspended for the day. 

Manatee County parks and beaches will be open to the public.  Manatee County and Buffalo Creek Golf Courses will be open. G.T. Bray Recreation Center facilities will be closed on Monday, Sept. 2. Blackstone Skate Park and G.T. Bray Skate Park will be open. 

Central Library, the only county library normally open on Mondays, will be closed. 

Manatee County’s publicly owned natural preserves will remain open.
