Lakewood Ranch Singer’s Eliminated From ‘American Idol’
Alana Sherman's time on ABC's televised singing competition has come to an end. She made it to the Top 24.

LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL — After making it into the Top 24 on “American Idol” this season, Lakewood Ranch singer Alana Sherman, a singer from Lakewood Ranch, was eliminated from the show Sunday.
Vying for a spot in the show’s Top 16, she last performed on the “All Star Duets and Solos” episode April 4. The episode featured the contestants singing both on their own and with famous musicians.
That night, Sherman took the stage with R&B singer Brian McKnight, performing his song “Back at One.” For her solo performance, she sang “Blow Your Mind (Mwah)” by Dua Lipa.

Katy Perry said, “I thought you really embodied, like, entertainment. You really lit the stage up. You worked the audience. You acknowledged them. Now, I think all you need to do is just do a few more risks with some notes, ‘cause I know you got it in there.”
After learning she didn’t advance to the next round of competition, Sherman thanked her fans on Facebook.
“Thank you everyone for all the support you have shown me. This is the end of my American Idol journey, but I’m so grateful for everything that has happened. This is not the end,” she shared on Facebook.
She also posted a clip her singing “Another Sad Love Song” by Toni Braxton, which she would have performed live if she had made it into the Top 16.
