One person is dead following a house fire Tuesday morning in Bradenton, according to Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue.
The fire department responded to 6231 26th St. W. in Bayshore Gardens this morning for a reported house fire.
When crews arrived, they found a victim outside the home in cardiac arrest, and the victim was reportedly removed from the home by a neighbor, according to the fire department. The fire was contained to one of the bedrooms and quickly extinguished by the crews, a news release stated.
Despite the neighbor's heroic efforts, the victim could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the victim was not immediately released and will be announced later after next of kin is notified, according to the fire department. Property records show the home is owned by Buda, TX, woman who owns a real estate investment firm, and had at one time owned other properties in Manatee County.
The home is a one-story two bedroom and one bath home valued at about $57,000, according to property records.
Cedar Hammock Fire Rescue and the State Fire Marshal's office are investigating the cause of the fire.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this story included a different spelling of the victim's name that had been initially released by the sheriff's office and was later corrected.
