BRADENTON, FL — A 60-year-old man faces charges after pointing a shotgun at another car while driving south on Interstate 275 from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge on Thursday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.

Troopers said they responded to reports that a Ford Expedition driver, later identified as Michael Platts, had pointed “a rifle” at another driver around 7 a.m. They pulled Platts over for a traffic stop at State Road 70 and 73rd Lane in Bradenton, FHP said.

Inside his SUV, troopers found a revolver, a semi-automatic pistol and a loaded tactical-style Remington 870 shotgun, which resembled a rifle, FHP said.
