Following an argument, De Andre Sanders shot, killed a man in Bradenton, the sheriff's office said. He also attacked a woman at the scene.

BRADENTON, FL — A man has been charged with shooting another man 19 times during an argument in Bradenton and killing him, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

De Andre Sanders, 27, was charged with second-degree murder, domestic battery by strangulation and assault with a firearm, the sheriff’s office said.

The MCSO said Sanders shot and killed 31-year-old Frank Green, who was in his car, in the 5700 block of 5th Street E. in Bradenton April 17.

During the investigation, detectives obtained video surveillance from a nearby residence. The quality of both the video and audio was poor, though, and it took several weeks to have the audio enhanced. The video showed “a heated conversation” between the two men, including the sound of multiple gunshots, the sheriff’s office said.

An autopsy found that Green was shot 19 times. Sanders told deputies that he shot Green in self-defense.

Instead of contacting law enforcement immediately after the shooting, Sanders attacked a woman at the scene while asking her about her relationship with Green.

Detectives arrested Sanders Monday, weeks after the shooting. His arrest warrant says that he initiated the argument by opening the car door and shooting Green in the left side and head, the sheriff’s office said.
