Manatee County Sets Hiring Expo
With more than 100 open positions, Manatee County is playing host to a hiring expo later this week.

BRADENTON, FL — Tampa Bay residents looking for work in the public sector may want to set a course for Palmetto later this week. Manatee County has announced plans to stage a hiring expo on Thursday.
According to the county, representatives from numerous agencies will be on hand to talk to attendees about job openings. Some of the hiring agencies include the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, property appraiser, supervisor of elections and tax collector. “The county has more than 100 vacancies,” an email from the county said. Some of the openings include bus drivers, administrative support, law enforcement, utility workers, 911 dispatchers and convention center staff.

The expo is set to take place Oct. 5 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Bradenton Area Convention Center, 1 Haben Blvd. in Palmetto.

“The county is expanding, this coupled with over 500 current employees set to retire in the next three to five years, there has never been a better time to explore a long-term career in County Government,” Joe Spain, the county’s talent recruiter, said in a statement. “The hiring expo will also have CareerSource Suncoast on site to help candidates with resume writing and interview tips along with their mobile job unit so applicants can apply on site, with many programs doing on site interviews and hiring."
Job seekers are asked to bring several copies of their resume with them.
