Marauders Set to Take Over Town

Florida State League team has several events planned to celebrate Opening Day.

BRADENTON, FL – A week after the Pirates will leave for home, a group of Marauders will take their place.

The Bradenton Marauders will kick off the opening week of their 2016 Florida State League schedule with several events leading up to the team’s home opener Saturday, April 9 against the Fort Myers Miracle.

Fans will have their first chance to meet the 2016 team at Eat Here, 5315 Gulf Dr., Bradenton Beach, on April 5 at 6:30 p.m. All players and coaches will attend, and will be formally introduced at 7 p.m. There is no cover charge, and a taco cart and a cash bar will be available.

The Marauders will then head down to Fort Myers for their season-opening two-game set against the Miracle on April 7 and 8 at 7:05 p.m. before the teams head back to Bradenton for the weekend series. Marauders season ticket members can attend road games for free by presenting their season ticket holder ID card.

The home opener at McKechnie Field will also be Pirates and Princess Night. Activities include free horse and carriage rides, princess appearances and photo opportunities, and a costume parade for all fans who come in costume, with fireworks following the game.

Sunday, April 10 will be the first Family Fun Sunday at the ballpark. All children 12 and younger can participate in a children’s fun run. The game starts at 1 p.m., and all Family Fun Sunday games include “kids concession stands” with food options for younger fans.

Tickets for Marauders games are $10 per seat for infield box and infield reserve sections. Tickets are $8 for baseline box sections and $6 in the Left Field Bleachers. Season and group ticket packages are also available.

The McKechnie Field box office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays when there is not a Pirates Spring Training home game until April 1. The box office will close April 2-4. It will reopen on Tuesday, April 5 at 11 a.m. On game days, the box office is open on weekdays from 11 a.m. until the end of the game and on weekends from two hours before first pitch until the end of the game. On non-game days, the box office is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
