Nate's Honor Rescue To Host Ponies For Pups

Nate's Honor Animal Rescue will combine every child's favorite—ponies and pups—at a fundraising event on Saturday.

The fourth annual Ponies for Pups polo event returns Saturday, March 9 at the Sarasota Polo Club, 8201 Polo Club Lane, Lakewood Ranch.

The event is the largest fundraiser of the year benefitting the non-profit, no-kill shelter, specifically intended to offset costs related to the medical care, rehabilitation and well-being of more than 800 animals taken in annually.  

Since 2008, the group has rescued more than 2,500 cats and dogs that were abandoned, abused or neglected in the Tampa Bay region.  

The event features a live polo match and a luncheon provided by Polo Grill, and you can even find a rescued animal waiting to be adopted and taken home.

Tickets are $10 per person, with children under 12 admitted free, or for $45 you also receive a catered luncheon along with premier seating. Gates open at 11 a.m., and the match begins at 1 p.m. Tailgating is encouraged. Parking is free, or pay $40 for a reserved tailgating slip.
