Pedestrian Killed Crossing U.S. 41 Wednesday: Sheriff
A 40-year-old Sarasota man was hit by a car while trying to cross U.S. 41 near 69th Avenue West, Florida Highway Patrol said.
MANATEE COUNTY, FL — A 40-year-old Sarasota man was hit and killed by a car while trying to cross U.S. 41 Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
Around 10:50 p.m., the car was traveling south in the left lane of U.S. 41, approaching a green traffic signal at the intersection of 69th Avenue West. The man was crossing the highway north of the intersection at the time, FHP said.
The car’s left front hit the man, FHP said. The driver, an 80-year-old Sarasota man, suffered minor injuries.
