Pirates Pitching Great Steve Blass To Sign Book At McKechnie Field
Steve Blass was part of the Pittsburgh Pirates 1971 World Series team and has a book out, called "A Pirate for Life."
It's a pirate's life for Steve Blass, as the Pittsburgh Pirates legendary pitcher documents in his new book A Pirate for Life.
The Pirates' great will sign his book from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at McKechnie Field in Bradenton.Â
Fans will get a chance to meet Blass before the Pirates-Twins spring training game that day and have copies of the book autographed.Â

Bass began his career with a complete-game victory over Hall of Famer Don Drysdale in 1964, and won the World Series with the Pirates in 1971.
His career ended when he just couldn't control his pitches anymore, and prompted the baseball term, "Steve Blass disease." The term is used for stud pitchers who just can't control their throw of a baseball anymore.

The book is considered a humorous tale of Bass' bizarre journey of a World Series champion pitcher turned color commentator.
