Publix, Target, Walmart: Which Grocers Are Open On Labor Day?

BRADENTON, FL — If you find yourself facing Monday's Labor Day cookout without any buns or ketchup take heart.

A number of Florida grocery stores will be open for at least part of the Labor Day holiday while others will be operating on a regular schedule.

Patch checked with Publix, Target, Walmart, Costco and other big retailers to find out which stores will be operating on a holiday schedule Labor Day

"We are open regular hours for Labor Day — 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. in most stores," said a spokesperson for Publix.

"Target stores will be operating on Labor Day with our normal store business hours, which vary by store," said a spokesperson for the retailer. To find a store's hours, use Target.com's "Find a store" feature to select your store and view the store hours for the upcoming week.

"Our stores are open normal hours for Labor Day," said a spokesperson for Walmart.

Costco stores will be closed on Labor Day.

The Fresh Market spokesperson told Patch that hours will vary by location on Labor Day. Check the website for hours at the store nearest you.

A spokesperson for Winn-Dixie and Fresco y Mas said both stores will follow regular business hours on Labor Day.

Walgreens stores will be open regular hours on Labor Day, but most non-24-hour pharmacies will be closed, according to a spokesperson.

BJs Wholesale Club locations in Florida will also be open normal hours on Labor Day, a spokesperson told Patch. To check the hours for your local club, visit BJs.com/locations.
