SCF Music Student Honored by Statewide Intercollegiate Assoc.

SCF student Chloe Armentrout was recognized as Music Student of the Month

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) student Chloe Armentrout was recognized as Music Student of the Month in December by the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA), which regulates, coordinates and promotes statewide intercollegiate activities.

Armentrout is the principal clarinet player in the SCF Symphonic Band, head stage crew member and a representative of the SCF Music program at Student Government Association meetings. She was also chosen by the SCF Music faculty to be a woodwind competitor in Florida’s Student Artist Competition to be held on Thursday, Jan. 21 and recently was awarded a $500 scholarship by Women Band Directors International, an international organization that represents women band directors of all levels.

"She has been a real leader in the music program this semester," said SCF Director of Instrumental Studies Dr. Robyn Bell, who nominated Armentrout for the award. Bell cited Armentrout's leadership in organizing the stage crew for the “Stronger Together” concert and her help leading a fundraising effort for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County as examples of exceptional commitment.
