SCF Program Director Receives Ribaut Award for Short Film
SCF Digital Cinema Program Manager Chris Fletcher received the Ribaut Award for Best Student Film, "The Punishment."

State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) Digital Cinema Program Manager Chris Fletcher received the Ribaut Award for Best Student Film at the 15th annual Beaufort International Film Festival (BIFF) for his short film, “The Punishment.”
Fletcher joined SCF in 2020 and has a background in filmmaking and film education. He earned his Master of Fine Arts in advanced film practice from Screen Academy Scotland.
“It is wonderful to have this recognition for the film after our cast and crew put so much energy and passion into it,” said Fletcher. “And I’m glad to be able to share my experience working on the film – from development to production to festival strategy – with my students in the digital cinema program at SCF.”

“The Punishment” is a crime drama about a gang enforcer who finds himself at a crossroads after the death of his son. It features a cast of British film and television actors, including Cal MacAninch (“Downton Abbey”), Jenni-Keenan Green (“Shetland”) and Jim Sweeney (“Outlander”).
BIFF has been named one of the “Top 25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World” by “MovieMaker Magazine.” The competition’s judges included a national panel of film industry professionals.
