SCF Softball Team Helps Unload Buses for Local Food Programs
The softball team at SCF volunteered to help "unstuff" 15 buses filled with food as part of the Manatee County Food Bank's campaign.

The softball team at State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) volunteered to help “unstuff” 15 buses filled with food as part of the Manatee County Food Bank’s Stuff the Bus campaign. The softball team joined with other groups to unload 78,000 pounds of food during the Oct. 1 event.
The Food Bank said the help was much needed as they tried to fill their shelves “especially after Hurricane Irma.” Much of the food feeds about 18,000 children in Manatee County who depend on the donations, according to the Food Bank.
Members of the softball team said stacking the pallets with food was a workout, and a good bonding experience. They set up an unloading line and passed boxes of food to one another and then on to the pallets.
