Second Arrest Made Following Seahorse Lounge Shooting: Sheriff

A 16-teen-year-old has been identified as the driver in a shooting outside Seahorse Lounge in Bradenton Sunday, the sheriff's office said.

BRADENTON, FL — A 16-year-old identified as the driver during Sunday’s Seahorse Lounge shooting has been arrested, the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. A juvenile pick-up order was signed, and he was arrested at his home Wednesday evening.

The sheriff’s office said the teen was also involved in a separate shooting being investigated by the Bradenton Police Department.

Jose Aldavera, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted murder after shooting a woman who was who searching for discarded items in the parking lot of the Seahorse Lounge, which is located at 2608 9th Street W. in Bradenton, just after 5 a.m. Sunday, the sheriff’s office said.

Aldavera approached the woman, who hasn’t been identified, asking her for spare change. When she refused, he shot her three times – once in the arm and twice in the torse, deputies said. The woman was treated at Blake Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The sheriff’s office said Aldavera was also involved in the separate shooting under investigation by Bradenton police.
