State Road 70 In Manatee County Closed Due To Sinkhole

The Department of Transportation has closed State Road 70 due to a small sinkhole in the roadway just east of Betts Road.

MANATEE COUNTY, FL -- The Department of Transportation and the Florida Highway Patrol have closed State Road 70 due to a small sinkhole in the roadway just east of Betts Road.

The hole is approximately 2 feet in diameter in the eastbound lane. The DOT will have a crew out to assess the hole later in the morning.

Traffic has been diverted around the area onto Singletary Road, which will take drivers back to Betts Road.
