Students should expect each appointment to last from 20 to 35 minutes. After receiving the vaccine, students are asked to remain for 15 minutes to watch for adverse reactions, the district said.
The second dose of the vaccine will be given May 20. A follow-up email to book the appointment will be sent to students after their first shot.
The Pfizer vaccine is the only brand approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use by 16- and 17-year-olds, receiving that approval in March. Gov. Ron DeSantis opened Pfizer vaccine eligibility in Florida to 16- and 17-year-olds starting April 5.
