'Stuff The Bus' Benefits Food Bank of Manatee

Visit any of the 15 Publix stores located in Manatee County to donate on August 28.

Join The United Way, Publix, Tropicana, The Food Bank of Manatee, 92.1 CTQ and The School District of Manatee County in our Stuff The Bus campaign to benefit The Food Bank of Manatee. The Stuff The Buss event will be held at all 15 Manatee county Publix locations on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 9:00-3:00 and customers will have the option to make a food donation to help fill up the school bus that is in the parking lot.

The demand is growing within Manatee County to provide sufficient food for the food insecure. There are over 48,000 food insecure people, approximately 14.4% of the population living in Manatee County. We are encouraging the community to come and make a food donation to help those who can’t afford to feed their families.

“We urging the community to respond with urgency due to our current food shortage. As the snowbirds have all returned up north, we are left with limited resources to keep up with the ever growing demand to help our local community- specifically the kids”, said Maribeth Phillips, CEO, Meals on Wheels PLUS.

How you can help: Visit any of the 15 Publix stores located in Manatee County to donate on August 28th. Each Publix location will have critical food items available for purchase.
