Teen Reported Missing from Bradenton Home

Police are searching for the whereabout of 16-year-old Tyler Stephenson.

Police in Manatee County are searching for a missing teen they say tried stealing a gun from Walmart and then ran away after being released from custody.

Tyler Stephenson, 16, was reported missing late Saturday night after running away from home.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office says Stephenson was arrested earlier during the day Saturday for attempting to steal a gun from a Palmetto Walmart.

Upon returning home after release from juvenile detention, the teenager reportedly ignored his father’s order to remain indoors.

Stephenson’s father says the teen then said, “I will kill myself before going to court,” according to the sheriff’s office.

The teen is 6 foot 5 inches tall, about 170 pounds and last seen at 2000 30th Avenue in Bradenton walking westward.
