Thief Broke Into Restaurant Saturday Night, Stole Cash: Sheriff

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office is asking for public assistance in identifying a man who broke into Popi's Place in Ellenton.

ELLENTON, FL — The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance in identifying a man who broke into an Ellenton restaurant Saturday night.

The thief broke into Popi’s Place, a homestyle family restaurant at 3911 US 301, and stole “a substantial amount of cash,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.

The thief appears to be a man in his mid-50s, around 6 feet tall and 250 pounds.
