Three Men Hit Victim, Attempt to Steal Bike, Deputies Say

While riding his bicycle around 10:30 Saturday night north on 34th Street West, a 17-year-old male was suddenly surrounded by three suspects. 

According to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office, the suspects attacked the victim, struck him in the face and attempted to steal his bicycle. 

The victim, deputies said, resisted and was able to ride away. 

A deputy detained two of the three suspects after being observed walking just south of the incident scene, according to authorities. 

Deputies apprehended the third suspect a short time later as he circled the area on a bicycle. 

The sheriff's office said two witnesses signed affidavits stating they observed the first two suspects attack the victim. The victim made positive identification of the third suspect.
