Tiny Home Auction Benefits Boys & Girls Clubs Of Manatee County

Online bidding is open on a solar-powered, 540-square-foot tiny home donated by Pearl Homes. Funds raised benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs.

BRADENTON, FL — Online bidding opened Thursday on a solar-powered tiny home donated to Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County by Pearl Homes.

Those interested in the 540-square-foot home at 12444 Cortez Road West in Cortez can bid on it through July 22 at 1 p.m. Online bids can be placed here. All funds raised will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Pearl Homes, a leader in sustainable, environmentally friendly homes, invested nearly three years and more than a million dollars of research and development into this prototype that was constructed and designed in a research and design center in Manatee County, according to a news release from the Boys & Girls Clubs.

With solar panels and Sonnen electric storage battery technology, the donated home has the ability to be self-sustaining and create excess power, organization said. Measuring 12 feet by 45 feet, the move-in ready home also includes all interior fixtures, furnishings, GE Energy Sense appliances, Google Smart Home technology and more.

“We could not think of a better way to give back to the community than to invest in the future of our young people,” Marshall Gobuty, founder and President of Pearl Homes, said.

Tranzon Driggers, a member company of Tranzon, LLC, one of the largest real estate auction companies in the country, has donated its time to host the online auction on their website.

“We are so grateful for Pearl Homes’ and Tranzon Driggers’ amazing gifts of treasure, time and talent in support of our mission,” Dawn Stanhope, President and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, said. “As we celebrate 75 years of serving our community’s youth, this opportunity serves as a great example of how thoughtful generosity can help sustain our mission.”

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, which was founded in 1946, offers afterschool and summer programs to more than 1,500 young people at six locations in the county.
